SLST Club of the Year for 2022/23

How Can You Help?

The Nipper Program at KBSLSC is run by volunteers, most of whom are Nippers parents, and there are many roles which parents can help out in.  This might mean standing in knee deep water encouraging Seahorses to do dolphin dives, placing the flags in the sand or running the BBQ. It doesn’t have to be every week, but if everyone takes their turn and pitches in, it makes it more fun for everyone!

Age Manager

Role Description

An Age Manager plays a fundamental role within the Nippers program and is responsible for the care, safety, well being and development of the junior lifesaver. Whilst every Age Managers may not have all the skills and understandings in all areas of program delivery, their role will be to seek out and utilise expertise from within their Life Saving Club.

To be eligible to become an Age Manager you must:

  • Be of 18 years or older
  • Be a financial member of a Life Saving Club
  • Hold a valid Working with Children Check

This role also involves the completion of an Age Managers course as a basis for the delivering of training and activities.

Important note: All Nippers must be accompanied by a supervising adult when undertaking club activity. Our Nipper Program is run by parents who volunteer to be coaches, officals and lifesavers. We require a parent or responsible adult to be present for the child.
